11 Classic Twilight Zone Episodes That Could Be Improved By Colorization
9. A Stop at Willoughby
An overworked executive keeps falling asleep during his train ride home, and dreaming that his train is stopping at an idyllic small town called Willoughby. When he inquires about it, the conductor assures him that no such stop exists on their line. When the real world gets unbearable, he decides to get off at Willoughby the next time he has the dream, and stay there. From his point of view he made it. From everyone else's point of view, he sleepwalked off the train while it was in motion, and died.
HOW COLORIZATION COULD HELP: Although not a time travel episode as such, it resembles one (Willoughby is like something out of a Normal Rockwell painting). Normally in such episodes colorizing the present and leaving the past in black and white is most appropriate. But for this episode, the reverse is better. Colorize Willoughby, and leave the real world looking drab, à la The Wizard of Oz.
