https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11j7WUFaTVg You've seen unsettling versions of the Justice League from other worlds before, but none quite like this. There is a Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman here, but a bit different; Superman is the son of General Zod and raised by a family of Mexican immigrants; Wonder Woman is Bekka, wife of the New God Orion; And Batman is Kirk Langstrom, a scientist who cured his cancer but also infected himself with vampirism. Still considered a peacekeeping force, the League finds its authority challenged when a group of scientists dies mysterious deaths. The series takes an unusual format: the first "season" will be three shorts followed by a feature film, to air on Machinma. Machinma is already confident enough that it has ordered a second season. Series creator Bruce Timm resists thinking of these Leaguers as "evil counterparts." Are they good or bad? "Maybe somewhere in between. A lot of people think of them as being bad. Maybe they come off that way. Maybe inevitably they would have to be, compared to the standard versions of them." Anticipation Level: Extremely strong. Anything Timm does is at least worthy of consideration, and here he's come up with something very intriguing indeed, especially since this new Justice League seems to have a story on its own terms, not as mere foils for the "real" Justice League.
