11 Important Things To Remember About Game Of Thrones Before Watching Season 7
2. Tyrion Was Able To Calm Two Of Daenerys' Dragons
All we had been seeing of Rhaegal and Viserion for the longest time was them being chained up and roasting people alive. So, when Tyrion decided to visit their catacomb and unchain them, naturally we all feared the worse.
Like Varys, we watched Tyrion from afar with the uncomfortable dread of expecting his tiny dwarf body to be mauled and separated into two. But, when we saw him calmly speak to Daenerys’ responding babies, we were all pleasantly surprised.
So, what does it mean that Tyrion was able to successfully interact with the dragons? As of now, only George R.R Martin and the showrunners know. But, seeing as Tyrion has had a fascination with them since childhood, and that friction between Tywin and Aerys Targaryen existed because of the “Mad King’s” lust for Joanna Lannister, it is possible that Tyrion is Aerys’ son and that he will be one of the theorised three to ride the dragons when the long night occurs.
If Tyrion is a Targaryen, then he was not on trial by Tywin for being a dwarf, but instead for being a reminder of what Aerys did to the Lannister legacy.
