11 Major Things To Expect From Fortitude Season 2
1. A Further Spread Of Infection
Simon Donald claimed the infection is done with and all of the surviving wasps have been burned, but as anyone who has ever tried to have a picnic will attest, getting completely rid of wasps is entirely impossible.
That's particularly pertinent in the case of Fortitude as there are a number of other possible infection traces. Firstly, there's no precedent for how Liam and Elena will recover from their primary infections, or how Vincent might recover from supposedly having his stings exploded out of him (SCIENCE!)
Plus there's the question of animal infections. What about the polar bears, people?
And not only that, there are more mammoths, whether Donald cares to admit they could be infected or not (why would so many mammoths die in one area if not because of nasty bees?) And what about the Ronnie's tusk that went to the mainland? Are tusks not subject to infection?
The point is, if season 2 wanted to bring back or even amp up the infection stakes, it's entirely possible to find cause in the existing story elements. And the idea of a small island town under siege from an infected mainland would probably sell well to a post-Walking Dead TV universe.
