11 Major Things To Expect From Fortitude Season 2

Elena's fate is yet to be resolved. As the season closed out she was left in a coma, having been shot by Dan before she could pass on her infection in the worst possible way.

Their obsessive love story was a central part of the show, particularly in terms of what it does to Dan. There was a flash of doubt in that telling moment that given everything he'd been through and everything he felt for Elena, he wouldn't be able to pull the trigger. And that he would effectively be a killer again thanks to poor decisions.

But then not only did he shoot to stop Elena, he shot to kill her in a rare moment of being a good cop.

So what happens if she wakes up? How does their relationship recover from attempted murder (no matter how justified)? How does a man mostly defined by one relationship (in his morality and his very compulsion to exist) get over the fact that he shot and DIDN'T kill his beloved?
