Whilst it's not nice to see anyone suffering with an incurable disease, it's good to see that awareness is being raised in different forms. Emma has Cystic Fibrosis which is a disorder that makes it difficult to breathe as it affects the lungs, as well as the pancreas, liver, kidneys and intestine. The average life expectancy isn't very high as it's usually around 35-50 years in developed countries. Whilst Emma is seen to struggle with her illness, she isn't defined by it. She's a strong, independent and optimistic character and the fact that she's easy on the eyes makes it a pleasure to watch.
