11 Times The Walking Dead Said F**k You To The Fans
10. Maggie, Daryl, And Jesus Plotting Together
The Season 8 finale - and indeed, Season 8 has a whole - had a number of issues that annoyed or simply bored viewers, but none felt like such a FU than having Maggie, Daryl, and Jesus banding together to plot an assassination of Negan, and thus plot against Rick.
Maggie wanting Negan dead isn't the issue, since the man is responsible for killing her husband, but the way it's handled - which almost paints the character as a villain - is very misguided and goes against what we've seen from her over the past few years.
The same can be said of Daryl, too, who comes sneaking out of the darkness for the pure reason of surprising viewers without actually making much sense. He and Rick had their problems, but his story had largely come back around, especially given he forgave Dwight, so it's another backward step. Jesus, meanwhile, spent the entire season convincing Morgan not to kill, only to decide to himself out of nowhere.
So that's two of Rick's closest companions, who could reasonably talk to him about any problem, and a man who was steadfastly against murder, now plotting against one of their oldest friends to kill someone. Great.
