11 TV Shows That Deserved Another Season

2. Veronica Mars

The CW

Party Down creator Rob Thomas is no stranger to much-loved, short-lived shows. His other passion project was teen drama Veronica Mars, that was cancelled after only three seasons despite being universally beloved and launching the career of Kristen Bell. The show was bounced around timeslots by UPN (and The CW, after the network's rebranding) before being dropped entirely in 2007.

Thomas and Bell both fought hard for the show's survival, even putting together a trailer for a potential spin-off series in which Mars works for the FBI, but the network wouldn't budge. However, this is one show in which dogged persistence paid off. In 2013, Thomas launched a Kickstarter for a Veronica Mars film and received $5,702,153 which was more than double their original goal.

The movie was released in 2014 much to the excitement of fans and critics alike. They may not have got their extra season but they did get a resolution to the story.
