11 TV Shows That Deserved Another Season
4. Pushing Daisies
It's possible that Pushing Daisies was just too (beautifully) weird for this world. Premiering in 2007, the fantasy-comedy-drama-whatever-you-want-to-call-it ran for only two short seasons and the calls for its return have never really stopped. As with so many other cancelled-too-soon shows, it was a huge critical success, winning 7 Emmys during its short run.
The quirky design and extremely surreal plotting were completely unique in a television landscape that often feels tired and same-y. After the untimely cancellation, the producer worked on a comic about the show's world but it was never released due to the publishing house who were due to print it shutting down. An extra series, film and Broadway musical have also been floated but so far nothing has stuck. It seems likely that, despite best efforts, the Pushing Daisies revival is a hopeless dream.
