11 TV Shows That Just Got Cancelled

6. Siren

Supergirl The CW
Freeform

If this list hasn't already made it clear, this year has been full of unexpected TV cancellations, but one of the most surprising didn't come from one of the big five TV networks nor the streaming giants. No, this one came from little old Freeform .

Siren made a name for itself on the channel formerly known as ABC Family when it first debuted back in 2018, giving viewers new interpretations of the mythical creatures we've all heard stories about, presenting them as layered and empathetic characters at the same time. It was very well-received for all of the above and thrived on the performances of Alex Roe and Elaine Powell.

The haunting mermaid drama was also the most-watched show on Freeform during its debut year and held onto that record in its third (in spite of a ratings drop), which is what makes its unexpected cancellation all the more frustrating.
