3. Warrior Nun
Warrior Nun felt like one of this year's great surprises. Of course, fans of the comic book knew it was coming, but even then, it never felt like it was overly promoted or teased. It had a pretty solid trailer released two weeks before its arrival to entice fans and, well, apparently that worked because it turned into one of the big successes of the summer.
A fantasy series, it follows a 19-year-old woman who is seemingly revived with a new divine purpose. That purpose is to protect the earth from certain supernatural creatures that wish to do it harm - and with that, she joins an ancient order and embarks on an occult adventure to slay some demons.
The show was mostly well-received by critics and clearly the fans took to it as well as it made itself at home in Netflix's Top 2 for quite some time. And in spite of the streaming service's recent cancellation spree, Warrior Nun was one of the few that secured itself a second season.
