12 Awesome Robots From TV History

8. Doctor Who's Dog

As a recent convert to Doctor Who, I've noticed that the series is literally filled with robots; from the killer robot bus conductor in "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy" to the robot double of the Doctor in "The Chase", robots constantly appear in the show. But there is no more popular mechanoid than the Doctor's robot dog K-9.

7. Buffy-bot and Ted - Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Appearing in season five and six of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the Buffy-bot is a robot replica of Buffy Summers. Buffy-bot had her uses (mostly as a sex toy for the vampire Spike), but was eventually killed by Glory in the finale of Season Five. Rebuilt and improved Buffy-bots continued to make appearances throughout the remaining Buffy seasons. Ok, more Law breaking here (Law Four and Law Five). John Ritter was an entertaining actor, so I have to throw in his one-shot appearance in Buffy. John Ritter plays the robot "Ted" in an episode from Season Two of Buffy. Ted is the new boyfriend of Buffy's mother, Joyce. Unfortunately for Buffy, Ted has a violent side that only Buffy gets to see. The conflict between the two eventually turns to fisticuffs (and, as always happens with Buffy, footicuffs), where Ted's real nature is revealed.
