12 Best Animated Superhero TV Shows Of All Time

8. Justice League/Justice League Unlimited

Batman The Animated Series
Warner Bros. Animation

Not content with exploring the present and future of Batman's historic DC Animated Universe arc, the powers-that-be decided to fill in the blanks between both shows while expanding the DCAU to give fans an idea of just how big it could be, and the only property capable of doing that was Justice League.

Initially focusing on the heroics of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter and Hawkgirl, it eventually expanded further through spin-off sequel Justice League Unlimited as it basically incorporated the entirety of the DC Universe into the show, welcoming other underappreciated heroes and some forgotten legends into the mix.

With writing just as impressive as all of its predecessors and animation even more streamlined, both shows were welcome additions to what had already become an iconic franchise, widening the scope in so many ways as the heroes battled threats in various cities, countries and even outer space itself.
