12 Best Character Arcs In The Walking Dead
8. Michonne
Michonne had quite the messy, usually tragic arc on the show. She turned up at the end of season two, saving Andrea from a grisly fate, and during season three formed a major rivalry with The Governor that forced her to join ranks with Rick, Daryl, and the survivors at the prison. It took a while, but after forming a close bond with Carl Grimes, she became a key part of the group.
After losing Andrea, Hershel Greene and then the prison to The Governor's quest for vengeance, it looked as though Michonne would resort to her life before she found Rick et al, wandering the world alone, refusing to form attachments. But she came around, and helped the group get back together as they made their way to Alexandria.
Over the next few seasons, she fell in love with Rick, became a mother-figure to Judith Grimes, lost Carl to a walker bite, and became a leading voice in the communities during the war with the Saviors. After losing Rick, she continued to raise Judith and lead her community, and was last seen heading out following a clue about what happened to her husband.
