3. Clara's Impossible Choice (Kill The Moon)
Poor, poor Clara. If you weren't thinking that when our impossible girl fled from the TARDIS in a fit of furious tears at the end of Kill the Moon then you're a heartless hater who should hang your head in shame. Not really, but it was definitely a dramatic scene which showcased just how brilliant Jenna Coleman can be. Narratively it was pretty gripping, too. After leaving the impossible choice of saving planet Earth or the moon (which is actually an alien egg, by the way - do try and keep up!) on Clara's shoulders, the Doctor's attempt to respect his friend backfired when she accused him of patronising her and generally making her feel redundant, despite the fact she quite literally had the fate of the entire world in her hand. The general gist of Clara's outburst, though, was that the Doctor always claims the Earth is his, too, so why wasn't it at a time it really mattered? Instead of helping he disappeared but apparently that's just how this Doctor rolls. It was enough to convince Clara to leave her life in the TARDIS behind for good but something tells us she had been looking for an excuse to project her rage upon the Doctor ever since his regeneration. She definitely did that and once she'd cooled down and reevaluated the situation she realised that her heart was still in it after all. Nice try though, BBC. Her exclusion from the Mummy on the Orient Express trailer and omission from the credits almost had us fooled for a minute there.
