1. Starcrossed
The finale of the first incarnation of the series, Justice League, Starcrossed is a three-part episode in which the Earth has to deal with Hawkgirl's alien warrior race, the Thanagarians, coming to Earth and trying to save them from an invasion from their enemies, the Gordanians, in exchange for the Earth's obedience.
Dealing with themes of betrayal and hidden agendas, as well as "the greater good" and the consequence of military states, this three-parter changed the series's status quo forever, with Hawkgirl having to choose between loyalty to her people, and her love of Earth and the Justice League.
It also presented fans with the first ever unmasking of The Flash, and the revelation of secret identities between members of the League, with Batman (as expected) knowing all of them.
With the League having to go undercover to work against the Thanagarians and uncovering their true plans, as well as Hawkgirl turning on them (the effects of her betrayal felt even in the newer Justice League Unlimited series), then turning against her own people to help them, this three-parter is a legendary finale worthy of such a legendary show, even if not its true end.
