12 Brilliant Ways TV Characters Were Brought Back From The Dead

10. John Locke €“ Lost

One of the most shocking moments in season five was the death of fan favourite John Locke at the hands of Ben Linus. Since the early days of season one, John had been a big advocate of the island and the benefits it could bring to the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815, not least because it restored feeling to his legs, allowing him to walk again. It's why he takes on the thankless task of trying to convince Jack, Kate and the other members of the Oceanic Six to return to the island even after they make their escape at the end of season four. Of course, being Lost, his story doesn't end at his death and as his body is delivered back to the island we discover, going into the final season, that the island has chosen to help John a second time by bringing him back to life... ...Or has it? In a tragic turn of events we learn that one of the show's greatest heroes has been dead since Ben killed him and the man walking around the island is in fact the enemy; the smoke monster wearing the guise of John Locke. His resurrection is a cruel trick on the audience, and it takes one final climatic battle with Jack and the loss of both their lives to rid the world of the evil within the island. Sometimes people don't return from the dead, even in a show like Lost and unfortunately John Locke never got to live out his life on the island he made his home...
