Investigators of the sea. Originally a French Canadian concept, the show was translated into English and took up most of the 90s. Airing from 1991 to 98 is would have been near impossible not to catch a glimpse of the two underwater detectives, poking their fins into fishy business. The cartoon was written like childrens noir, with jazz routines and dance numbers. It followed the poisson pair (as the French must have called them) as they tried to clean up their deep-sea habitat. Sharky was the big pink one of the duo, complete with fedora hat to further enhance that classic Hollywood feel. George was his younger colleague, a fish of an altogether more tropical persuasion. With plot lines taken straight out the gangster genre, Sharky & George brought a whole new take on the phrase sleeping with the fishes.
