12 Characters Once Upon A Time Wants You To Forget About

11. The Huntsman

The Huntsman -- or as he was known in Storybrooke, Sheriff Graham -- was the first major death on the show. Just seven episodes into the series, Graham died in Emma Swan's arms after Regina crushed his heart. Although he had little to ultimately do, Jamie Dornan was likeable in the role, reprising both his Fairy Tale Land counterpart and Sheriff Graham one more time a piece in two different flashback episodes in seasons one and two. With Dornan to be seen next year as Christian Grey in the film adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey and his role on OUAT long since at an end, the Huntsman is a character whose absence at least made sense. But then the season three finale saw Emma Swan and Captain Hook catapulted through time, only to land in Fairy Tale Land at a time when the conflict between Snow White and Regina was at its peak. Through some Back to the Future-level antics, Emma was able to unite her parents, run into a few other fairytale characters and ultimately get back home to Storybrooke. But one thing oddly missing? The Huntsman. Although the show challenged Emma and Hook to fix the damage to their timeline -- a logical motivation -- the use of the Huntsman in the arc could've provided Emma with a far greater moral dilemma. Emma had begun falling for him in season one before it all came to a harsh end, and armed with the knowledge of his future death, she could've had to face the quandary of saving Graham from his own fate, especially due to her interactions with Regina practically begging for him to appear. But he didn't, the show went on and the Huntsman's existence wasn't even mentioned. With Dornan's star level bound to skyrocket next year, viewers will probably never see him again.
