12 DC Characters Who Were Wasted In The Arrowverse
1. Wally West
Oh dear, poor Wally.
In the comics, he served as the original Kid Flash, before eventually stepping into Barry Allen's golden boots to become the third Flash. This was a mantle Wally West wore for decades in the comics, before the return of Barry and several timeline shakeups left Wally adrift and struggling to find a place in the new status quo.
That's still better than how the Arrowverse version fared, though.
While Wally did still become Kid Flash on TV, that's really all there is to say about him. He was introduced as a long-lost member of the West family, caused some drama, got super-speed, did a stint as Barry's sidekick and then buggered off. It's obvious that the writers had no idea what to do with him, since the Arrowverse has sort of made the concept of sidekicks redundant with their hero support team structure. Not to mention the fact that, unless they chose to follow the comics and have Wally take over from Barry, then there was only so much that could be done with him. And let's face it, that was never going to happen.
So Wally suffered the fate of all unwanted Arrowverse supporting characters: he was shipped off to the Waverider for a spell, before drifting off into obscurity, only popping up for the occasional guest appearance.
It's a pity that a character who spent decades in the comics proving himself to be a hero in his own right, has been all but forgotten onscreen.
