Debuting in the Golden Age of Comics, Ted Grant was a heavyweight boxer who fought crime under the costumed identity of Wild Cat. He was a member of the Justice Society of America and is well known for having trained several younger heroes in the comics, including the second Black Canary.

This backstory more or less remained intact when Grant made his Arrowverse debut in Season Three of Arrow. Here, Grant had been a vigilante well before Oliver's return to Starling City and took to training Laurel Lance in her early Black Canary days.

Ted had a fairly prominent arc throughout Arrow's third season, but ultimately only appeared in a handful of episodes before disappearing without any explanation. Much like Ragman, he was barely mentioned again after his exit, which is a major disappointment because Grant could have been a valued member of Team Arrow if given the chance.

Having been a vigilante before the days of the Hood, Wildcat could have filled a role as a mentor to Oliver and other heroes, as he's done in the comics. This could have been tremendously handy in Season Five, where Ted could have stepped up to help train Oliver's batch of new recruits. Sadly though, 'twas not meant to be and we'll be left wondering what became of Ted Grant forever more.

Oh well, at least now we have Stargirl's Yolanda Mortez to fill the Wild Cat-shaped hole in our hearts.
