12 Great Comic Book References In Buffy & Angel

5. Daredevil - Storyteller

Daredevil1 In the Buffy the Vampire Slayer final season episode "Storyteller", Andrew Wells is documenting the Slayer's life in the days leading up to the final confrontation with the First Evil by filming around the Summers household. In this instance, he sits Xander and Anya down for an interview and the following dialogue is exchanged... Andrew Wells: "This is Xander and Anya Interview Number 1 for "Buffy, a Slayer of the Vampyrs."" Anya Jenkins: "That's what you're calling it?" Andrew Wells: "Either that or "Buffy, the Slayer Who Knew No Fear."" Xander Harris: "I like that one." "Buffy, the Slayer who knew no fear" seems to be a reference to the Marvel hero Daredevil. Although this isn't absolutely confirmed, Daredevil is known as "the man without fear" and the fact that Xander - a guy with whom Andrew shares a mutual love of comic books (as is confirmed later in this article) - likes the name would seem to suggest that this is due to their mutual understanding of the reference.
