12 Great Simpsons Episodes You'll Never Own (Thanks To Fox)

11. At Long Last Leave

The Simpsons Treehouse Of Horror Xxv
20th Century Fox

At Long Last Leave from Season 23 seems to owe a bit to Mel Brooks, as guest star Julian Assange appears to be using an idiot's luggage combination for the access code to his security system (and if you don't get that reference, go watch Spaceballs!).

The 500th episode of the series, At Long Last Leave's story sees the Simpson clan exiled from Springfield by the rest of its inhabitants, who have tired of the family's antics. As a result, the family winds up moving to The Outlands, a desolate county where they become neighbours with Wikileaks and Assange, who gets along fine with Homer and the kids but rubs Marge the wrong way. While the rest of the family adjusts to their new life, Marge becomes homesick, until Homer smuggles her back into town, the two of them disguised as Burns and Smithers - only to be caught at their old home on Evergreen Terrace.

Wisely poking fun at "fans" who claim to be tired of the series, At Long Last Leave is a television milestone, and while not the best Simpsons episode, it's still entertaining, and a new twist on the family's relationship with their home town.
