Well, it's a new year and TV manufacturers have to sell new TVs somehow. Thankfully (for them), 4K TVs are dropping from $20,000+ prices to $1000 for a 50 inch TV. In a few months, we probably won't be able to watch anything without getting a 4K TV ad or two every commercial break. Should you buy a 4K TV? Maybe not. Like I mentioned before, broadcasters aren't 4K ready, so you're stuck with a handful of 4K downloads, House of Cards in 4K for bandwidth busting, and PC games (if you've got a gaming PC that can pump out 4K at sane frame rates). And then there are all the technical reasons to not buy a 4K TV right now. It's a great piece of equipment to talk about, but it for most people, it's too soon to jump on the bandwagon. You can decide for yourself if 4K is something you want now, but remember early adopters always pay later.
