1. The Twelve Doctors (The Day Of The Doctor)

Because, let's face it, what else was it going to be? This iconic image from the closing moments of The Day of the Doctor basically encapsulates everything that Doctor Who stands for. Here was the Eleventh Doctor, standing alongside his predecessors, and they were finally going home. It's 50 years of the world's greatest science fiction programme summed up in one beautifully executed shot, with the promise of even greater things to come. The show truly has pushed the boundaries since its 2005 revival and it's even better that it got the opportunity to honour its entire history, too. As our heroes looked out into the universe, you can't help but feel a jolt of excitement when you realise that he's only just getting started. Doctor Who fans have still got an awful lot of running to do and let's hope that it never, ever stops. Here's to the next 10 years of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff! It's been a blast.
