Young Justice has been lauded as one of the best superhero animated shows ever. Its cancellation was met with such dismay that DC Studios revived the show over a decade later.

In Season 2, the team of young heroes were up against an alien conspiracy slowly taking over the earth. To make matters worse, the aliens had their own enemies, one of whom decides the best way to stop their rise is by destroying the planet they are trying conquer.

Mongul, a galactic warlord and total powerhouse, arrives with the weaponized planet known as War World in tow. However, it was not just the planetary-scale hardware he possessed, but rather Mongul himself that became the biggest thorn in the side of the heroes.

Originally, Mongul was the leader of an alien civilization who overthrew him in a rebellion. His more recent comic-book origins also show him owning an intergalactic empire, maintained through the might of War World.

Here, even after the good guys are able to neutralize War World, Mongul’s own raw strength proves nearly too much for even the likes of Superboy to overcome.
