This was genuinely one of the most unique concepts ever attempted by a TV show. In a very Tales from the Crypt style setting, here we got a storyteller who was a human-puppet hybrid. The titular narrator would sit by his fire alongside his puppet dog who was meant to be a representation of the viewers.

Each episode went through a story focused on some obscure western folklore, many of whom the average audience member may have never heard of. From soldiers trading with death to giants without a heart, this covered all kinds of strange mythical tales.

Along with the stories, it was also the unique atmosphere of the show that had a really gripping effect on those watching.
