9. There's Just Too Much Merchandise
Yes, a first world Whovian problem if ever there was one! Doctor Who fans are hardly stuck for choice when it comes to purchasing Doctor Who merchandise but the only frustration is that there's just too bloody much of the stuff. Hell, there's even entire shops dedicated to stocking official memorabilia and even they're not big enough to maintain it all under one roof. What fans really need is a Doctor Who mall - an entire shopping centre dedicated to books, DVDs and action figures galore, but let's not pretend that that isn't the biggest forlorn fantasy since our (ongoing) campaigns for the Eighth Doctor to get his own TV spin off. Sigh. It isn't really anything to complain about, though. Fans should be happy that there's such an abundance of memorabilia ready and waiting for them to get their greedy mitts on. If they can afford it all, that is. The problem lies with the simply fact that the only thing that isn't bigger on the inside is your wallet, which makes the task of maintaing your Doctor Who shrines somewhat difficult when the sonic screwdriver you got last Christmas is now already out of date and you don't have enough pennies to acquire the latest 'upgrade'. Yes, the BBC is using it as a money spinner but when Doctor Who is involved, you'd be hard pressed to find any fan that cares. As long as they can keep their collections up to date, that's all that matters, right? So, how much was that life size replica of the TARDIS again...?
