4. The Bad Signs
Like the animal puns everywhere in the show, there are just so, so many of them. Some, you’ll have caught the first time. Others might just have passed you by.
The central running gag to these signs is that the simple instructions for the printer get added onto the banner, or the the shirt, or whatever else is being printed. For example, when Mr Peanutbutter throws Diane a birthday party, the banner reads ‘Happy Birthday Diane And Use A Pretty Font’.
There’s also been ‘Welcome Home, Little Bro Oh And Also I Have A Groupon’, ‘Congrats Diane and Mr Peanut Butter Peanut Butter Is One Word’ and follow up ‘Congrats Diane and Mr Peanut Butter Peanut Butter Is One Word Don’t Write One Word’.
The show has become so known for these sight gags it’s even started poking fun at them. In Season Five, Princess Carolyn goes to a flea market where she walks past a stall selling t-shirts. An opossum working there holds up a blink and you’ll miss it t-shirt, reading ‘Stop Pausing And Just Watch The Show’. Well played, BoJack.
