12 Small Details You Only Notice Rewatching The Walking Dead
1. More Tragic Foreshadowing
Bringing things full circle we're venturing back to Season Two. More specifically, we're moving back to Sophia.
During Season Two's long search for the little girl, Daryl and Andrea make their way into the woods to try and pick up her trail. On their journey, Andrea makes a remark that proves more devastating than perhaps first intended, suggesting that Sophia is most likely hold up in a farmhouse somewhere. It doesn't mean much at first, of course, but once the truth is learned and you re-watch the episode, it means everything, and shows just how tantalisingly close they were to finding her.
It's a great piece of dialogue and foreshadowing, actually, and shows just how devious and cruel the writers could be to their audiences. Sophia's death remains a staple of the show and one of its most iconic and devastating scenes. Knowing that the crew knew where they were going with it, and what they were going to subject us to, makes it even harder to digest.
Especially since Sophia Peletier survives the comic series and lives happily ever after.
