12 Stupidest Decisions By Star Trek Characters

3. Killing All The Witnesses; Armageddon Game

In concept, the plan to erase everyone and everything that has to do with the Harvesters is fairly sound until it comes down to the very last scene of the show.

Bashir and O'Brien are the final two pieces in the puzzle that need to be eliminated to ensure that the tragedy of the T'Lani and Kellerun War cannot happen again.

Although to do this the two formerly warring sides choose to send their leaders plus an armed contingent down to the planet where the two are hiding. As decisions go, this is is the most extreme case on this list. Brilliantly in the final moments of the episode the two planetary leaders - still accompanied by their soldiers - make a quick decision to round it all off.

In this case they will just report that the pair were killed when their runabout exploded and therefore everything is OK. Not sure if the audience was expected to see past this one because there are now a bunch of witnesses who litearlly saw this order!

Convoluted is one thing but the entire scenario just doesn't work when it's thought through. Moreso it leaves even more possibilities for the technology to be revived if one of those multiple witnesses on the planet or the ship reveals what actually happened.

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
