12 Things Doctor Who Has Taught You Better Than Your Parents
9. Do As You're Told
Paranoia, curiosity, fear, trepidation, obstinance... The deadliest combination of emotions brew inside the Doctor as he lingers inside Orson Pink's derelict space capsule, intently watching the hatch unbolt itself. What's that in the mirror or in the corner of your eye? What's that footstep following, but never passing by? He has to know, and Clara can't negotiate with the Doctor's irrational fascination with irrational fears. At times like these, the absolutely impossible girl, for once, must do as she is is told. It is very obvious when someone can't be bothered with reason. Preoccupied, anxious and brooding over some haggling thought, they may snap an impatient order, laconic and laced with a bitter sting. After the initial shock, your most advisable course of action would be to immediately exit the premises and wait for the sound and the fury to recede, especially whenever a temperamental, raging Scotsman is on the scene. Clara isn't persuaded so easily, however. The feisty companion stomps away indignantly with heels clicking and wide face glowering, but not before looking daggers sharp enough to shear the Doctor's eyebrows off.
Anna is an aspiring writer who has an incurable obsession with Doctor Who. When she is not writing about Doctor Who, she's watching favorite episodes and contemplating what to write next. When she's writing about Doctor Who, she anticipates her reward: watching yet another Doctor Who episode. She also manages to read science fiction (especially Ray Bradbury), recite lines from Shakespeare's Macbeth, and make terrible puns in her free time (she likes to imagine she has great puntential, though)
