12 Things You Didn't Know About Jon Hamm

9. He Worked On Sets For Softcore Porn

It wasn't always leading roles in major television series for Hamm, and his time climbing the ladder in Hollywood went to some pretty weird places in his early days. After a series of painful rejections, Hamm took a job helping a softcore porn production company. Talking about his formative years in Vanity Fair, Hamm commented: "I was actually at that time working as a set dresser for Cinemax soft-core porn movies. I had to move furniture around sweaty naked people. It wasn't a great job." His roles were limited to simply dressing the set up in preparation for the performers to hop straight onto the good foot and do the bad thing. Whether Hamm ever considered taking a more... um... "hands on" role with the company is something only he knows, but certainly the softcore porn world's loss is primetime TV's gain.
