There's always a weird sensation of joy in discovering that two famous people who you would normally never put together are, in fact, as close to each other as you and your own weird bunch of friends. Jon Hamm and Sarah Silverman might not be the most unusual, but they're certainly not far off. The two met during what Hamm refers to as his "salad days" living out in LA, and the two have been close friends ever since. They collaborated on a number of things during the formative parts of their careers, and Silverman was even able to get Hamm a small part as a cable guy when she landed her own show. Hamm tried to return the favour for her on Mad Men, by telling the show's creators to cast her as one of his future love interests, but Silverman jokingly laughed off the approach.
