Episode: Season 3 - "Stark Raving Dad" Another third season gem. "Stark Raving Dad" might now be best known for its uncredited Michael Jackson appearance (he turned up as a pseudonym in the credits), but it's also the episode that sees Bart team up with the man claiming to be Michael, Leon Kompowsky, to come up with an original song to celebrate Lisa's birthday, which she believes Bart will forget: Happy Birthday, Lisa. Jackson didn't actually sing the tune, though he did compose it himself (he also provided the speaking voice of Kompowsky, but voice sound-alike Kipp Lennon did the singing as Jackson wanted to trick his brother's into thinking it was actually him). It turned out to be a heart-warming moment on the show, one of the earliest examples that Bart Simpson really did have a heart.
