12 TV Reboots You Didn't Know Were Coming

Remember Alf? He's back! In reboot form!

Actually, Alf isn't quite all the way back yet. While Warner Brothers are keen on bringing the alien back, they're still in talks behind the scenes before the whole thing gets officially confirmed. The two big blockades appear to be the struggle to find a writer, and the uncertainty over whether this will be a completely new alien with a new story, or a continuation of Alf's original tale.

Of course, where exactly Alf's tale is up to is a surprisingly controversial issue. For the uninitiated, Alf's finale saw him discover a radio contact from his old friends, who are able to take him home. Unfortunately, the Alien Task Force finds out about this, and ends up capturing Alf.

If that sounds like an utterly dismal ending, that's because it was never supposed to be the end. Instead, it was just a cliffhanger, but Alf's cancelation meant his story ended with a whimper. There was a movie made to smooth things over, but despite involvement of creator Paul Fusco, some fans dismiss it as non canonical.

In short, they're still looking for a writer, we're not sure what the deal is with Alf's story and maybe people care a little too much.
