12 TV Shows That Will Probably Be Cancelled In 2019
1. The Gifted
While Marvel on the big screen continues to dominate the box office and the cultural conversation, it hasn't worked out quite so well on the small screen. Netflix have canned all of their MCU TV shows, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. might not have long left, and FX's Legion is coming to an end after its upcoming third season.
Like Legion, The Gifted is made by Fox, so its future is in real doubt because of the Disney-Fox merger, which is going to be completed sooner rather than later. That leaves a number of big question marks over all Fox-Marvel content, and since Disney will have MCU plans for mutants, The Gifted might be among the victims of that deal.
Even if that weren't happening, though, the show hasn't been gifted in the ratings department. Its ratings have fallen by over 40% in Season 2, and it's the second lowest-rated of all the network's shows both overall and in the 18-49 demo. That alone would be enough to cancel it, but the Disney deal is likely going to cement it.
