12 TV Shows You Didn't Know Were Linked

7. Riverdale And Black Mirror

Westworld Game Of Thrones
The CW/Netflix

Black Mirror's transition to Netflix certainly had its ups and downs, but the bigger budget and broader audience meant that the series had a chance to explore new creative avenues. One roaring success that came from this partnership was the incredibly well-received and universally beloved San Junipero.

It seems that alongside the fans, this episode also struck a chord with the showrunners of Riverdale, as the fictional city made an appearance - albeit only by name - in the popular CW series.

After the climax of the first season, the character Joaquin can be seen leaving Riverdale by boarding a bus to San Junipero. This is a clear and deliberate reference to the hit Sci-Fi show, as no real city exists by that name, at least certainly not in the real world.

Although the character would end up returning to the series, he never mentioned anything about memory transfer or the afterlife, so it's safe to say he avoided those parts of the city.
