12 TV Shows You Didn't Know Were Linked

The frequently hilarious and always goofy Red Dwarf was an entirely new approach to Sci-Fi on television. The irreverent series indulged in the most ludicrous aspects of science fiction, and lovingly mocked them, while still using them correctly. With a show that loved the genre so much, it came as no surprise that they would pay homage to the titles that paved the way.

In the episode Psirens, the crew of Red Dwarf pass through a spaceship graveyard. If you look close enough in this derelict area, you can spot a Klingon Bird of Prey floating in the background. This brief cameo was exciting enough on its own, but in the same sequence, you can even see a Weyland-Utani vessel from the Alien franchise. The moment was clearly an excellent opportunity to add some references, and the showrunners took full advantage.

What's most daunting about this segment is the thought of what was responsible for putting this Bird of Prey out of action. If Klingons had trouble with this dangerous creature, then surely Rimmer and the crew don't stand a chance.
