4. The Office (UK) And It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
While Always Sunny indulges in the ludicrous and absurd, it has a gritty aesthetic and tone that completely lines up with the dry and witty vibes of The Office. As such, it comes as no surprise that two of their most prominent figures have similar taste.
In an episode of the UK Office, the ever outrageous David Brent walks into his workspace sporting a stylish leather jacket. The punchline comes as he confidentially brags about the garment being made by Sergio Georgini, a clearly fake and presumably cheap designer. However, this would not be Georgini's last brush with sitcom fame.
In Always Sunny's Christmas special, Frank tortures Dee by showing off a designer bag that be bought for himself as a present, knowing that she would be jealous. Who designed that bag? Well, none other than the brilliant Sergio Georgini.
It's great to see this punchline used as a building point in another show and displays the level of homage that is possible between comedy properties.
