After spending six months in rehab, and re-entering the world attending AA meetings and getting a good job as an acting professor at Wesleyan University, BoJack Horseman’s life was finally in a better place. He proved that you are never too old to make positive change in your life.

However, while things seemed all wrapped up for him, Sarah-Lynn’s mother still had questions about her daughter’s death. There was nothing in the police report about BoJack, as he went home before calling 911 to make sure he wasn’t connected to her death, but two reporters soon started digging.

Paige Sinclair and Maximillian Banks went from Sarah-Lynn’s mother to the AA meeting where BoJack boasted about almost sleeping with Penny. From there they went to New Mexico, found out about Maddy’s alcohol poisoning and how BoJack abandoned her, and to Doctor Champ who told them everything BoJack confessed under a false veil of confidentiality in rehab.

Everything came out about what happened with Penny, and the real details about Sarah-Lynn’s death, ruining the new life BoJack created for himself. That’s not to say that he didn’t deserve to have the consequences of his horrible actions come back to him, but without these two reporters he would have been able to live out the rest of his life in some manner of peace.
