12 Worst TV Shows Of 2017 (So Far)
1. Imaginary Mary
As bad as these 11 shows were, not one is quite as ill-conceived and painful to watch as Imaginary Mary.
There's a reason why so few TV shows, especially comedies, feature persistent CGI characters, and that's because they demand considerable costs far outside the range of most series.
So, Jenna Elfman's mischievous imaginary friend Mary isn't just visually unappealing to keep the budget under control but also enormously grating to listen to, essentially feeling like a knock-off Drop Dead Fred...if that movie was even good in the first place.
Elfman is really trying here, bless her, but the concept is dead-on-arrival thanks to a digital creation that works against the show's few good sensibilities. ABC reduced the episode order in late 2016, clearly seeing the writing on the wall, and then cancelled the series before its first season even finished. Good riddance.
