12 Worst TV Shows Of 2018
10. Camping
Lena Dunham and her Girls co-showrunner Jenni Konner opted to remake the 2016 cult British comedy of the same name about a group of obnoxious friends who go camping and attempt to co-exist with one another.
Like so many U.S. re-toolings of savage Brit comedies, the new Camping smooths out the original's acidic tone into something more palatable for the mainstream, naturally shaving off much of its appealing edge in the process.
It's especially disappointing given Dunham's involvement, not to mention a top-drawer cast led by Jennifer Garner and David Tennant.
This is the sort of show where achingly middle-class folk debate the pronunciation of the word "pho", which apparently passes for humour.
Dunham has been criticised in the past for her lack of self-awareness with regards to how her characters come across, and that counts for double here, because they're so much more annoying than she thinks.
