13. Don and Maggie Stark
Location: Prosperity, Indiana
First Appearance: Season 7, Episode 5 "Shut-Up Dr. Phil"
Played by: James Marsters and Charisma Carpenter They may be two powerful and murderous sorcerers, but Don and Maggie have the same old mundane problems as the rest of us; how do you keep the love and passion in a marriage over time? Sure, Maggie left a swath of jealous destruction through Prosperity, and Don fired back a few shots himself, but it's not impossible to see how these obviously comic characters could be adjusted to regular players on an show where monsters and humans are striving to getting along. After all, Don does return to help Sam and Dean when Maggie goes ahead and slips them magic coins anyway. He's also there to do subdue Chet the Leviathan that's giving them trouble, and offers the helpful advice find a very deep place to dump the body before it revives. While I suspect we will definitely see the volatile witch couple again on Supernatural, there's definitely potential in sending one or both of them to Chicago for the full spin-off or at least a couple episode arc. I'll cop to the fact that this choice has less to do with the strength of Don and Maggie as characters (they were mostly a gag) and more with the fact that it would allow Whedon alums James Marsters and Charisma Carpenter the opportunity to shine together on another ensemble drama. Both of them played eventually nuanced and pivotal roles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its brother show Angel, taking characters that started out as just a little more than gags or cliches and creating believable people out of them. If we can get only one, let's make it Marsters who is a great actor who never really got his due after playing Spike. Have Maggie murdered and send Don out on a mission of warlock vengeance as he stumbles across the enclave in Chicago.
