13 Most Despicable Scumbag Characters In TV History

3. Frank Underwood - House Of Cards

In the incredibly popular House Of Cards, Kevin Spacey delivers an amazing performance as Frank Underwood, the devious schemer who would do pretty much anything to accumulate more power, without even a cursory concern for morality. He is strongly motivated by revenge and destroys anyone in his way, playing his part as a grotesque perfectly, without ever becoming too much of a caricature. One of Underwood's most awful deeds was manipulating and eventually killing Peter Russo, whom he had schemed and meddled on behalf, to get him into the position of Governor in Pennsylvania. His intentions were clearly contradictory, as he never actually intended to get Russo the position, and when he finally relapsed in his alcoholism and drug abuse as Underwood anticipated, he quickly took the lead of the situation. Before Russo can confess his wrongdoings, Underwood murders him, staging it as a suicide - all with the ultimate goal of getting nominated for Vice President. Underwood's been described as one of the greatest antiheroes on television at the moment, and is most certainly a despicable scumbag.
