13 Doctor Who Guest Stars Who Were Tragically Underused

Sometimes less isn't more.

Doctor Who is acclaimed for its ever growing checklist of notorious guest stars and it's safe to say that it's already welcomed aboard some of the finest acting talents that the industry has to offer. It's hard to imagine anybody turning down a guest stint in Doctor Who (although if rumours are to believe, there are a lot of people that have...) as it's basically a guaranteed way to leave your mark on the history of British TV history. A role in a Christmas Special is even more prestigious as you're basically being offered a role on primetime Christmas Day telly. Some guest stars make a bigger impact than others, though. There are some that come and go without anyone blinking an eye but there are others who end up being tragically underused. Most actors are probably just happy to be even associated with the ongoing adventures of the nation's beloved Time Lord and it's only a handful of lucky ones that actually get the honour of being welcomed by and into the fandom with open arms. Over the years that's become a rare and desirable accolade and over the following pages you'll see 13 (unlucky for some - especially these guys!) Doctor Who guest stars who have deservedly earned it. These are the ones that have already left their mark on the show's mythology but, for whatever reason, it just wasn't enough and as such they definitely have more to give.
