13 More TV Shows Already Cancelled In 2019 (And Why)
9. Baskets
Baskets could have been cancelled back in 2017 when Louis CK - the original producer and co-writer - confirmed that allegations of sexual misconduct against him were true, but FX moved on without his influence and the clown comedy starring Zach Galifianakis got to four seasons before its recent cancellation.
The show was beloved by its fans and critically acclaimed - particularly for the performances of Galifianakis and co-star Louie Anderson, but it was never anything other than a cult show. The cast might talk up it ending on a high - and it did in terms of quality, certainly - but the viewing figures turned against them somewhat in the fourth season, so it's not too surprising the show will end with its conclusion.
According to TV Line, the fourth season is pulling in an average of 334,000 total viewers, which, crucially is 20% down on the third and no amount of calling it a hidden gem can save it when that sort of downturn kicks in.
