Four years in the making, and after five seasons across four solo series, The Defenders is finally hitting Netflix next month.

The MCU miniseries will bring together Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist for its eight episode run, as they defend the streets of New York from the threat of Sigourney Weaver's mysterious Alexandra.

Almost all of the key supporting players from each show will be involved, along with the Hand and the return from the dead of Elektra.

Marco Ramirez is serving as showrunner (as he did alongside Doug Petrie on Daredevil's second season), and if it can reach the quality of Jessica Jones and the first season of Daredevil then we'll be in for a real treat. When it comes to superheroes on TV, there's nothing bigger in 2017 than The Defenders assembling at last.
