13 Most Compelling Backstories In The Walking Dead

Who are these people?

Walking Dead fans want to know everything and, despite the fact that there are years worth of source material, there are a lot of questions about back stories. In part, that's due to the fact that the show has strayed considerably from Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead graphic novels. The show has added new characters, and changed (or simply delayed) the fates of some from within the pages of the comics. Beyond that, there is the fact that not everyone has gone back and caught up with the printed story. The prequel will fill in some of the history of the outbreak, but there are mysteries and personal stories behind the characters fans have already seen on screen that deserve uncovering. Some of the characters in question have already moved on from the show, while others remain, either with Rick's groups of survivors or elsewhere. What is motivating them? How did they get there, how did they survive in the early days of the outbreak and the rise of the walkers? Who are they, really? Lets take a look now at thirteen back stories from The Walking Dead that should be expanded on. The caveat: having a back story in the comics doesn't count. This will focus only on what has (and hasn't) been shown onscreen.
