13 Most Shocking Breaking Bad Moments

12. Gus And The Boxcutter

Breaking Bad Jesse
AMC

Gus is a vile, just-plain-horrid character. He is calculating, vindictive and cold blooded. The extent of his true colours are shown in the Season Four premiere, when he performs the show's most violent and bloody kill.

In the episode, Walt and Jesse are preparing for the repercussions of Jesse killing Gale. Meanwhile, Gus' associate Victor tries to prove that he can cook Walt's meth, and that therefore Walt and Jesse are no longer needed in the operation. This is mainly due to Victor's own precarious situation, as he had been spotted near Gale's before his death.

In the end, Gus returns to the lab, changes into hazmat gear and grabs a box cutter from a nearby shelf. Without words or warning, he then grabs Victor and commences to slice his throat open without blinking or looking away from Walt or Jesse, removing a loose end in Victor whilst sending a firm message to the others about what he can do to them.

It's an out-of-the-blue murder, and one which solidifies one thing - Walt and Jesse are under Gus' control, and there's nothing they can do about it.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
